‘Bring a Shiny App to Production’ the hands-on workshop

Learn how to control your R Shiny development with a collaborative and agile deployment to production.

Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) stand at the basis of a robust, maintainable and collaborative productive code. In this 3.5-hours hands-on workshop we will discuss the best DevOps practices for using shiny in a professional enterprise environment. Utilizing golem, usethis, renv, devtools, rcmdcheck and rseconnect packages we will develop a small app hosting it on a GitHub repository, and we will deploy it onto shinyapps.io as our productive server solution.

• What 3.5 hours, hands-on practical workshop ‘Bring a Shiny App to Production’.

• When Wednesday September 21st, 15 – 18:30 CEST (time-zone Switzerland).

• Where Online. The workshop will take place on Google Meet. You will only need a browser to attend.

• Who If you have basic knowledge of R and shiny and your focus is on best development practices. You will also need a GitHub account to follow through part of the workshop.

• What will you get Instructions and slides will be provided prior to the workshop by email. During the workshop you will learn through a practical and hands-on approach. At the end of the workshop, you will receive a certificate of attendance. Recording will be optionally available after the workshop (39 CHF) for the attendees only.
