R is such a powerful language. Its foundation as a free software environment spurs adoption and unlimited, creative development. And in combination with Shiny, R becomes one of the most powerful tools for interactive data visualization and storytelling. That’s why we think it’s important to emphasize Shiny and consolidate all things R Shiny in a standalone newsletter.
Get your daily dose of R!
If you’re not already in the know – R-bloggers and Rweekly are excellent sources of R news. At Appsilon we share our own articles to R-bloggers more than any other site. If a bite-sized R news feed is more your style, check out Rweekly. You can also go directly to the source for Shiny news at the RStudio blog. You’re guaranteed to find quality information at RStudio’s site including the latest updates on Shiny packages, walkthroughs, community stories, and more. If you’re looking to beef up your R knowledge and stay ahead of the curve, you should smash that subscribe button for all three of these sites.
There are plenty of other quality sites beyond this trifecta that cover R and more generalized data science topics. If you think another site deserves recognition here, let us know in the comments below!
What is Shiny Weekly?
It’s no secret that we’re passionate about R/Shiny at Appsilon. We love to write, record, post and share what we know in order to help the R community grow. But we’ve noticed a lack of Shiny-focused content on the scale that we think Shiny deserves. So we’re launching a newsletter dedicated to Shiny news.
Shiny Weekly is run by Appsilon, the leading global expert in enterprise Shiny apps. Appsilon is a certified full-service RStudio partner. Shiny Weekly is not directly affiliated with RStudio, but Appsilon and RStudio enjoy a very close partnership and we routinely collaborate on content.
The Shiny Weekly Newsletter
Shiny Weekly is a weekly e-mail that includes popular content in the R/Shiny universe. It provides a snapshot of what’s trending in the community. It includes updates on new open-source packages, invitations to Shiny-focused events, Shiny tutorials, and information on shiny breakthroughs. Shiny Weekly will share unique Shiny application demos, Shiny templates, package updates, data visualizations, tutorials and educational programs, problems + solutions, and much more. We gather the most interesting news in the Shiny community every week and deliver it to you in an easy-to-read, concise way.
The Shiny Weekly newsletter is available now. Subscribe to the newsletter here.
Who can contribute to Shiny Weekly?
We envision Shiny Weekly as an inclusive source of Shiny information. That means anyone from the R community who wishes to publish quality R/Shiny content may submit content. We encourage Shiny users of all experience levels to share their knowledge and experiences. You don’t need to be a level 60 Shiny master. If you’re new to Shiny or R programming in general, your insights and fresh perspectives are important.
That being said, we ask that you do not copy others’ work and stick to R/Shiny focused content. As Appsilon manages the newsletter, we ask authors to adhere to our code of conduct.
We will not publish articles submitted by SEO or marketing agencies.
