E-learning provider DataCamp is setting the standard in this sector with more than 200 hours of course material on data science. In order to make the learning experience even more user-friendly, DataCamp turned to data analysis specialist eoda: with the course “Einführung in R” (Introduction to R) that has been translated into German for the first time, eoda is now providing all DataCamp users with this free fundamentals course.
Today, learning is as diverse as the subjects that are offered. Digital learning platforms are becoming more and more popular and complement existing learning offers. In the field of data science there are countless topics for which know-how can be built and deepened. DataCamp recognized this potential and provides various courses on its e-learning platform.
eoda removes language barriers
Although the platform already offered courses in other languages than English, there have not been any German courses yet. The basis is particularly important here: therefore, the German-speaking audience is addressed for the first time with the course “Einführung in R” which is now available on DataCamp. Martijn Theuwissen, co-founder of DataCamp, appreciates this step: “At DataCamp, we are seeing a big spike in users from Germany who are interested in learning R. So, we are super excited that eoda decided to create a free German version of our online Introduction to R tutorial.”
The course “Einführung in R” is made up of six chapters which are giving an extensive and comprehensible overview of the most important functions of the programming language – for the first time in German now. The user can immediately apply the newly gained knowledge in corresponding exercises and is thus perfectly equipped for new developments and packages: “The sector is rapidly changing. Hence, DataCamp is an important tool for expanding knowledge. At eoda, we are seeing this increasing demand as well and are happy to support customers in their learning process also digitally now – complementing our existing portfolio of trainings in Kassel and at our customers’ premises,” eoda Chief Data Scientist Oliver Bracht explains.
Variety is the spice of life
Digital learning is not for everyone. Therefore, eoda started the R Academy in 2010 – a trainings program that can be adjusted to individual requirements and criteria. In 2017, the R Academy will focus on variety and hit the road: nine cities in the German-speaking area are up for election as location for the new R Academy roadshow, among them Frankfurt, Berlin and Vienna.
