I’m pleased to announce that the new version 0.80 of PluginR has just been released (as usual, available as a Tiki Mod) with a few minor bugs fixed, and a couple of new interesting features added:
- PluginR now uses a caching mechanism extending the former basic usage of .RData.
This means that if no change is found in the R script or data to be processed, Plugin R serves cached html output instead of re-running each time the whole script with the same data, producing extraordinary savings in complex runs (from 2 minutes to 2 seconds in complex runs of the custom web interface for the Bioconductor “goProfiles” package).
- New param “echo” has been added.
When enabled (R Code# my R script here
), it displays the contents of the R script in a nicely styled box for lazy users (like many of us ) with a default caption, codemirror-based syntax highlighting and line numbering. These details, of course, can be further customized with their own parameters, for less-lazy users willing a higher degree of control over the display in the wiki page or blog post, etc. More information in the documentation page of PluginR as usual: https://doc.tiki.org/PluginR
Those of you willing to attend some face-to-face training on the basic or advanced use of Tiki & PluginR, please note that there are two workshops that will be held during July 2013.
- The first one, in the SummeR School of the Masters in Statistics and Operations Research, at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (10h-long training to cover many aspects and test many things step by step; last day for enrolling: tomorrow June 4th, it seems: http://meioupcub.masters.upc.edu/summer-school )
- The other one will be during the UseR!2013 International Conference, that this year will be held in Spain (Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha). A 3’5h tutorial during the morning of Tuesday July 9th: http://user2013.org – http://www.edii.uclm.es/~useR-2013/Tutorials/dePedro.html )
See you soon!
P.S: We are also preparing a paper to be submitted to the RJournal… More information to come in the following weeks.
