Behind the 2010 "Flash Crash". On May 6, 2010, at 2:45 PM, the Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted approximately 900 points and rebounded within a matter of minutes. Yale researchers Michael Kane, PhD and Casey King analyzed roughly 24 billion trades from 2008-2010 to evaluate the efficacy of the FINRA rules implemented after the event.
